What Is Microblading?

Brow Haus Collective is passionate about enhancing natural beauty and believe microblading is the most natural looking form of semi- permanent makeup. The hair strokes are expertly crafted to ensure they are indistinguishable from your natural hairs and while many salons offer microblading as an additional service, this can often result in a basic service which can lack the depth of knowledge required for realistic and bespoke natural-looking brows. At Brow haus Collective I deliver striking hyper realistic results guaranteed to enhance your own natural beauty.

The majority of mature women need to enhance their eyebrows daily, however with age also comes deteriorating eyesight and shaky hands; these two fundamentally harmless conditions make it extremely difficult to draw eyebrows on every day, often resulting in uneven results. This is why microblading is a treatment of choice by many mature women, who generally wear less makeup and require a very natural look.

The Hair Strokes

Microblading is a semi-permanent makeup technique designed to create the appearance of fuller, natural-looking eyebrows.

What is a Microblade?

 A microblade consists of multiple ultra-fine needles that form a precise blade. The microblade glides across the outer layer of the skin depositing pigment as it goes.  The mapping process ensures the shape and symmetry are agreed prior to the treatment commencing.  After full healing and a touch-up session, your brows will settle into a soft, natural finish that will last approximately 18-24 months.

The Key to Brow Perfection

The key to flawless, natural, microbladed eyebrows lies in a combination of skill, technique, precision, time and care. It requires an in-depth knowledge of facial symmetry, natural hair growth patterns,   colour theory and artistry. Choosing the right microblading artist for you is crucial to ensuring the desired outcome is achieved.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does microblading last?

This depends on numerous factors such as your age, skin type, skincare routine, environmental factors and sun exposure.  However,     generally speaking you can expect microblading to last anywhere between 1-3 years.  It is useful to schedule a consultation session at 12-18 months to assess when the next treatment may be needed. A colour boost session can help to redefine and refresh the hair strokes preventing the need to start from the beginning.

Is microblading suitable for everyone?

Microblading is a great solution for achieving natural looking and beautifully shaped brows, however unfortunately there are some         clients it is not suitable for. These include but are not limited to:

  • Anyone under the age of 18;
  • Anyone who is allergic, or who has been known to be allergic, to pigment or makeup;
  • Anyone taking blood thinning medication;
  • Anyone with active skin cancer in the area to be treated;
  • Anyone with skin disorders such as eczema or psoriasis in the area to be treated;
  • Anyone who has experienced post inflammatory hyper pigmentation;
  • Anyone with transmittable blood conditions such as HIV or Hepatitis;
  • Anyone with uncontrolled high or low blood pressure;
  • Anyone who is a haemophiliac;
  • Anyone with healing disorders;
  • Anyone taking Accutane (Acne medication)
  • Anyone taking steroids which thin the skin;
  • Anyone currently pregnant or breastfeeding;
  • Anyone currently undergoing chemotherapy or radiotherapy;
  • Anyone who is epileptic and has experienced a seizure within the last 2 years (A doctors note of approval required);
  • Anyone with keloid scarring.

Will it hurt?

Microblading involves implanting pigment into the upper reticular layer of the dermis, it is not implanted as deep as a permanent tattoo and therefore as the skin sheds and regenerates, the pigment fades. A topical numbing cream is applied prior to treatment resulting in a slight scratching sensation.  Although we all have different pain thresholds, I am confident to say that it does not hurt.

How will it change over time?

The pigments I use have a high level of lightfastness and are therefore designed to fade overtime resulting in a lighter version of the       original colour over a period of 1-3 years depending on skin type and aftercare.

Permanent makeup can sometimes change to an undesirable colour when the pigments used do not have a high level of lightfastness. The colours used to make brown; such as red, yellow and blue, can fade at different rates leaving either blue or pink pigment behind, therefore it is always important to check what pigments are being used to ensure this does not happen to you.

 How long does it take and what will it involve?

A full consultation and patch test is arranged prior to your treatment appointment. This gives me the opportunity to assess your needs as well as give you the opportunity to meet me so you can ensure I am the right microblading artist for you. There is absolutely no obligation to proceed following the consultation.  Following a successful patch test and consultation you will return for an initial treatment session which takes approximately 2 hours.  Together we will agree the shape, colour and desired effect and once the outline has been drawn, this will be shown to you to ensure you are happy before I proceed. Following a successful treatment you will return home with an aftercare pack and clear instructions, you will then return for a top up session approximately 6 weeks later where any refinements and           adjustments can be made.  This top up sessions takes approximately 1.5 hours and is included in the price.

 How do I know it will suit me?

I work from my home clinic and only offer two appointments per day, this is important to me as I want to ensure I have the time available to spend with you discussing your treatment needs, desired outcome, colour options and effect. I am passionate about improving peoples lives and improving self confidence, so if I do not feel that this treatment is for you, I would respectfully offer alternatives.

Is it safe?

A patch test is always carried out prior to treatment and this will ensure you do not have any allergies to the products used.   Allergic         reactions are very rare.  I use pre-sterilised single use microblade's to ensure a sterile tool is used for every client. I am fully trained in Health and Safety practices, and follow skin pigmentation infection control guidelines to minimise any risk.

Are there any side effects?

Immediately after treatment some clients experience some redness, tenderness and slight swelling to the treated area. This usually     subsides within 24 hours. A comprehensive aftercare guide is provided to all clients and this details the correct  method of aftercare which if followed correctly, will ensure any side effects are kept to a minimum.  You can expect to experience some flaking of the skin within 3-7 days post treatment as the skin heals, this is perfectly normal.

Welcome to Brow Haus Collective.  Hi, I'm Zoe.

A fully trained, licensed and insured microblading specialist.

I qualified as a beauty therapist 29 years ago and can't wait to     welcome you to Brow Haus Collective.  I started Brow Haus Collective after my own personal experience left me disappointed, but  passionately motivated!

In 2021  I experienced some hair loss which effected my eyebrows. After much research I decided to have microblading and quite   honestly it changed my life.  I felt more confident, and loved that I did not have to go through the painstaking experience of drawing my eyebrows on everyday. However 2 years later when it had faded I returned for a second treatment but left feeling extremely           disappointed. My appointment lacked any consultation or care, the colour and shape were less than desirable and my appointment felt rushed. This is when I took the future into my own hands.  As a qualified beauty therapist, training in microblading came easy and I spent the next 12 months creating my clinic, perfecting my craft, and ensuring I was 100% ready to help others.

I am passionate about helping people, dedicated to restoring smiles and giving the gift of confidence through microblading therefore I offer microblading free of charge to anyone who has   experienced hair loss caused by cancer or alopecia. Please see my  'Paywithasmile' scheme for further details.
